That thing called love...

#wrote it at 2 A.M just before going to sleep before my last midsem exam in first semester MBA at IIT Kharagpur

In my dreams intoxicated,
I have found you in many shades,
In many colours
And many songs,
In timeless eternity,
and ruthless desires...

Where I have found you smiling,
At our lives which suddenly went by,
Uncontrolled by our presence,
Oblivion to our demands...

But still they yielded,
Truths which were unknown,
Life which was meant to be,
Wasted without your presence...

Time which was never meant to be with you,
Our fates have bought us here,
To celebrate our togetherness,
Our joys and sorrows,
Share our smiles and pain,
Be one in duality,
Yet be twice as powerful...

So that our companionship,
Transcends the petty issues,
That surround the people and the world,
And be intertwined in each other thoughts,
So that it’s not possible to separate us,
And forever we,
bind in,
That thing called LOVE....

I think of you...

#wrote this poem in 2010, just sitting idle, reflecting on people in my life, reflecting on love, my friends, foes and many more...

On some lonely nights,
When stars lose their light,
To the moon so bright,
I think of you...

Blinded by your dreams,
Caught in your arms,
Trapped is my soul and,
I think of you...

On some mornings,
When the birds chirp around,
And the sun goes high,
I think of you...

Thinking of your smile,
The day goes fine,
But when it gets dusky,
I think of you...

Often in my sadness,
Always in my happiness,
You are there with me and,
I think of you...

Sometimes when I lose faith,
And my trust goes blind,
On the people of this world,
I think of you...

Sometimes like a wind,
Sometimes like a storm,
Your memories hit me and,
I think of you...

In my dreams and in my being,
In my pain and in my relief,
In my lives and in my deaths,
I think of you,
I think of you...

Forgotten lines...

#wrote this poem in 2010 in the college canteen, for someone who said to me that I never write poems for her. I did not archived this poem then in my collection, an year later she posted this poem as her Facebook status. Ironically, I could not recall that it was the same poem that I had written earlier. I wrote the second paragraph at that time as an explanation to this situation that words might be forgotten or they might not be there at all, but the feelings are always the same...

When words are not enough to express,
And I fail to impress,
Never think I don’t love you,
Coz it’s not about loving you,
It’s about loving my own self,
With the air of purity you gave,
In my life and made it beautiful,
Let me drenched in your everlasting fragrance,
Like dew drops settle on leaf buds,
Settle on my emotions, my heart,
For the time immemorial...

I might forget the words,
But feelings never change,
Words are just a medium to convey,
Might not be enough to take your heart away,
Don’t go by my words;
Some words are said in a fray,
Don’t go by my deeds,
Some deeds are done astray,
Don’t go by my heart,
Coz it may stop beating someday,
Remember the time we spent,
And Hope those memories never end.

Time will set me free....

#wrote this poem way back in 2005 while I was solving some maths problems in my 10th Grade, somehow the starting line struck me and I wrote it. Considering, I had such deep thoughts way back when I was 16, I feel I am not becoming any smarter from then, rather a faint shadow of what I used to be...

Time will set me free,
For I am a traveller with no shady tree.
Walking along the path of life is tough,
The roads have curves, they are long and rough.
Peace and solitude no way to be found,
Life is even worse than a hound.
Work is to be done day and night,
What else is life but a constant fight?
Things that attract us are tough to get,
Without them we cannot set.
Hope and despair invade our minds.
They give us courage of unmatched kind.
The zeal and enthusiasm push us ahead,
They remind us of the roads to tread.
The hectic world, so boring alas,
We have to live here till our last.
I wish I was born free as a bird,
Who moves about in his own world.
No fear, No worries, No anxiety in his life,
Life for him not a constant strife.
I wish I was born tall as a tree,
That gives fruit and shade for free.
I wish I was born large as a cloud,
Gives us rain making noises aloud.
I wish I was like the Sun so bright,
Gives to the world the life giving light.
But since I am born a petty human,
I wish the time will set me free.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan - Demystified

This is the trailer of Shahrukh Khan's forthcoming movie JAB TAK HAI JAAN, it was released today at 13:00 hours.

Along with Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma will mark their maiden presence in a Yash Chopra directed movie, whose last directorial ventures were Veer Zaara(2004) and Dil to pagal hai(1997).
Waiting for November when this movie will finally hit the theatres.

The beautiful poetry that captures the essence of this trailer is down below:

Teri aankhon ki namkeen mastiyaan
Teri hansi ki beparwah gustaakhiyaan
Teri zulfon ki lehraati angdaaiyaan
Nahin bhoolunga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan

Tera haath se haath chhodna
Tera saayon ka rukh modna
Tera palat ke phir na dekhna
Nahin maaf karunga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan

Baarishon mein bedhadak tere naachne se
Baat Baat pe bewajah tere roothne se
Chhoti chhoti teri bachkaani badmaashiyon se
Mohabbat karunga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan

Tere jhoothe kasme vaadon se
Tere jalte sulagte khaabon se
Teri bereham duaaon se
Nafrat karunga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan

While the poetry is not path-breaking or poetic masterpiece as Zindai Milegi Na Dobara's or Udaan's poetry for that matter, but it goes well with this trailer, which hides much more than it reveals about the storyline of the movie.

A similar third outing from Yash Chopra after having two girls and Shahrukh , Dil to Pagal hai (Madhuri, Karishma), Veer Zaara(Preity, Rani) and now Jab Tak Hai Jaan(Anushka, Katrina). The leading ladies have undergone changes as per the generations but SRK surpasses time and boundaries.

Several people are trying to encrypt the storyline by seeing the trailer. But, lets not spoil the charm by indulging in utopian spoilers. Just wait for the magic of romance king to sweep you of your feets yet again, as this movie also marks the return of Shahrukh in his most known Romantic genre after experimenting a lot with action(Ra-One), issue based movies(My name is Khan) in the recent years.

It will also be interesting to see with the sudden and dramatic rise of Salman Khan on box office cash counters and Aamir Khan's 3 idiots which still continues to be the top grosser in Bollywood ever, if Jab Tak Hai Jaan would finally be able to resurrect Shahrukh's top position not just in the hearts of masses but also on the Box office.
